Sign-up Nights
Sign-up Night is a fun social evening where you can meet the staff. You’ll learn about our additional programs, leadership opportunities and how an interested parent can sign-up to be a chaperone. All returning and new members must attend our Sign-up Night with at least one parent.
Volunteers
Your club is totally run by volunteers — adults and youth alike. That’s why we’re successful and cost effective. “Everyone pitches in!” A Leadership Corp of young people steer your club. Surprised? We will rely on, and encourage your willingness to share your talents. Loading and unloading snowboards and skis is done by members like you It maximizes the play time!
When traveling to and from the hill, help each other at the points we load and unload your equipment. Listen to and pass important information that might alter our itinerary. Use common sense, communicate, and work together as a team. Your courteous conduct on the shuttle and at the hill is most important and appreciated by all.

Chaperones
Youth are not the only folks who have a great time. Adults who like to ski or snowboard are encouraged to join the fun. A sign-up list will be available at our sign-up night meeting. Space is limited so sign up early; it’s first come first serve.
All chaperones with the Snow Venturers are approved by the Northernstar BSA Venturers and undergo Youth Protection Training.

At The Hill
Upon arrival, please listen for instructions. A time for departure will always be announced and it is your responsibility to listen. While your crew leaders retrieve your lift tickets, all skiers and snowboarders will remain on the shuttle. A pre-selected crew of leaders will handle the unloading of your equipment. Lift tickets will be distributed as you exit the shuttle to insure no miscounts.
Cool Tip: Food service is available at the hill, however we recommend you bring a bag dinner to save money.
Communication and Emergencies
Ski-‘n-Snowboard Venturers is staffed by registered and trained volunteers. Parents will be notified immediately if issues arise with their son or daughter.
